Welcome to the Wallingford Choirs homepage. This site brings together details of all the Wallingford choirs run by Sue Ledger. These choirs perform at various locations in the Wallingford area throughout the year, and in some cases have visited other regions on tour. At the moment there are three choirs performing a range of repertoires: Wallingford Church Choir Wallingford Parish Church Choir, directed by Sue Ledger, is a thriving choir which sings services at St. Mary’s and St. Leonard’s Churches in Wallingford. It is over 50 strong, including 19 juniors (from 6 to 18 years). The choir visits cathedrals during the summer to sing services, and most recently sang at Lichfield Cathedral, Classic FM Live, and at services at Canterbury Cathedral in August this year. The Juniors rehearse from 7.15 pm to 8.30 pm on Friday evenings at St Mary's and the adults join them at 8pm (and stay till 9.30 pm). For full details see the Wallingford Church Choir page. As a result of Decca Record's search to find Britain's Best Parish Choir we've recorded The Hymns Album of the nation's best-loved hymns, available in shops, online, and for digital download. Wallingford Children's Choir The Wallingford Children’s Choir, directed by Sue Ledger, has 70 singers aged from 7 (or 6 if good readers) to 13. They meet on Thursdays in term time from 4.30 to 5.30 pm at St. John’s School, Wallingford. New singers are always welcome to get in touch. There are no auditions and all that is required is a love of singing! The choir gives a concert at the end of most terms and also takes part in Civic Services and other special events. The aim is for the children to really enjoy their singing and they sing a wide range of different music. There is also a smaller group within the choir of more experienced singers, the Wallingford Chamber Choir; these singers stay on until 6 pm. Check out the Wallingford Children's Choir page for more information. Wallingford Singers Wallingford Singers is an informal choir open to anybody who wants to get involved in singing in the Wallingford area.
